Generating an example aqs configuration file with aqs generator

Generating an example aqs configuration file with aqs generator

In general, it is recommended to use the aqs file loaded from the relay. But in case you have not yet received the ordered relay and need to make protection configuration or want to get familiar with a particular IED type and its functions it is possible to generate a configuration file yourself by following these instructions.

Instructions to generate aqs-file

To generate a configuration file you will need AQtivate setting tool and a firmware file provided by Arcteq Relays.

Start the process by starting up AQtivate setting tool and navigating to Tools à Misc à Aqs generator.

Then choose the provided firmware file, pick a destination for the generated file and finally choose the device type desired.

Limitations of aqs generator

AQS generator can generate files of all the available device type but only with digital input, digital output and arc protection cards. If an aqs file for IED type with any other cards (RTD&mA input, Serial RS232 etc.) is needed please contact Arcteq technical support for assistance.

There are some limitations with the generated an aqs file. The following features are not included when aqs file is generated.
